4th June  -  At Home

Our usual social evening. We also look at our Diary Planner for the 3rd Quarter of 2025 and may also have a brief members’ update and feedback meeting.

18th June  -  Cultural Exchange

Across a rang of topics, we compare and contrast how we go about the various aspects of our daily lives.

 

25th June  -  Mostly Multi-choice Quiz

Derek tests our knowledge on a range of subjects with mostly multi-choice questions.

JULY 2025

2nd July  -  At Home

Our usual social evening where members catch up and chat over tea & coffee etc.  There may also be a brief members’ update and feedback session.

 

9th July  -  Bingo Night

Steven & Friends call out the numbers & there will be prizes for the winners.

 

16th July  -  Film Night:  ‘The Duke’

Set in Newcastle in the early 60’s, this is the true story of taxi driver, Kempton Bunton, who supposedly stole Goya’s painting of the Duke of Wellington from the National Gallery and afterwards sent out ransom notes stating that the painting would only be returned when the government invested more in the care of the elderly. This ‘ridiculously charming British comedy’ stars Jim Broadbent & Helen Mirren.

    

23rd July  -  Something to Read

Carl invites us to bring along something that we have read that has interested, entertained or amused us.

AUGUST 2025

6th August  -  At Home

Our usual social evening. There may also be a brief members’ update and feedback session.

 

13th August  -  Dance Night:  ‘Elite Syncopations’

It’s unlikely that we will get up and dance but we may find our feet tapping to The Royal Ballet’s production of ‘Elite Syncopations’ with music by Scott Joplin & other ragtime composers. The choreography is by Kenneth MacMillan.

 

20th August  -  Just Because We Are Gay

We take up the challenge and explore further the retort that is sometimes thrown at GMT: “Just because we are gay doesn’t mean that we have anything in common”.

 

27th August  -  ABM

Our Annual Big Meeting in which we review our 13th year as a collective, renew our commitment to GMT and hold elections, (if necessary), to the Duty Membership. We also have a bit of a party.

SEPTEMBER 2025

3rd September  -  At Home 

Our usual social evening. There may also be a brief members’ update and feedback meeting and we shall look at our Diary Planner for the 4th Quarter of this year.

 

10th September  -  Card Bingo

Simon introduces and hosts a variation of the ever popular game and there are prizes for the winners.

 

17th September  -  Laurel & Hardy Night          

Derek shares with us some of his favourite Laurel & Hardy shorts both from the silent era and talkies.

 

24th September  -  Discussion Evening:  ‘Gay Loneliness is Rotten’

Nathan, together with us, looks at the impact of loneliness and how we deal with it as LGBTQIA plus people.
