Diary

We are sorry to announce that due to the present coronavirus crisis, GMT has had to suspend all its meetings for the time being.

During this difficult period we are keeping in touch every Wednesday evening at 7:30pm via Zoom.

SEPTEMBER Diary - Sessions on ZOOM

2nd September -  The Apple Tree short film and discussion

When Gabe and Jonathan fall in love in the 1940s they decide to spend their lives together in secret. When Jonathan unexpectedly passes away, years later, Gabe is faced with the fact that many older LGBT people face when they move into retirement homes... he must return into the closet.

9th September -  Charades

Charades is a fun party game that has been played for generations. The game dates back o the 18th century and there has been various TV versions too. Join us for charades!

16th September -  Stereotyping

Derek invites us to look at various groups and their stereotypes. Most of us don't like it done to us, so why do we do it to others? What does it tell us about ourselves?

23rd September -  What's wrong with porn?

Avoiding the obviously puritan versus the wanton perspectives that divide opinions about this industry - is there a balance to be found with this emotive subject? Alan seeks to navigate a level-headed discussion on what can, for some, according to research, occupy 12 hours or more a week online.

30th September -  Metro 40th

John tells us the story of the beginning of the Tyne & Wear Metro with the help of a documentary and archive material, and, if you're very lucky, 'Tyne & Wear Metro: the Musical', and a QUIZ!
